SUMMARY

Attached is the proposed Inter-Local Agreement for fire protection services to be provided by the Boerne Fire Department, to the citizens of Kendall County who reside inside the Boerne Fire service area, but outside the corporate limits of the City of Boerne (see attached map, Exhibit “A”). Adjustments have been highlighted and there is a 17.63% increase. ($51,871 increase for FY 15/16). We are currently utilizing a process based on the number of residential and commercial roof tops in Kendall County, including the City of Boerne, that are protected by the Boerne Fire Department versus the number of residential and commercial roof tops in Kendall County protected by other fire departments. This is the process used in recent years to provide equitable funding based on the roof top formula. Kendall County’s budget responsibilities have increased as follows:

$208,000 in FY 09/10

$221,630 in FY 10/11

$227,614 in FY 11/12

$251,266 in FY 12/13

$275,520 in FY 13/14

$294,303 in FY 14/15

$346,174 in FY 15/16
